A Great Place to Live, Work, Learn, and Play

Along with its rich history, beautiful landscapes, exceptional schools, and outstanding neighborhoods, Lakeland has a thriving community with abundant activities and wonderful venues.  Garner Lake remains the largest lake in Shelby County, and hosts some of the most exclusive homes and beautiful views in West Tennessee.

Lakeland protects its natural beauty with a tree management ordinance, generous conservation easements, sheltered scenic corridors, and smart design guidelines.  Integrated pathways allow you to run, walk, and bike throughout the neighborhoods and 124 acres of parks.  Lakeland is proud to be certified by Tree City USA, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, and is looking forward to becoming a Certified Bicycle Friendly Community.
